University of Wyoming alumni, friends, educators and others in northeast Wyoming have opportunities to meet with UW College of Education Interim Dean Michael Day and mark the college’s 100th anniversary next week.
Receptions are planned Tuesday, Oct. 14 in Gillette; Wednesday, Oct. 15 in Hulett; and Thursday, Oct. 16 in Newcastle as part of a 23-county tour by Day to commemorate the College of Education centennial.
“I’m excited to get out and around the state to connect with our many alumni and friends, celebrate a century of service to the state, and seek input on the significant plans we have for the future,” Day says.
All of the receptions are open to the public, and no RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be served.
-- The Campbell County reception begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 14 in Frontier Hall of the CAM-PLEX Wyoming Center, 1635 Reata Drive in Gillette.
-- The Crook County reception begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 in the Greater Hulett Community Center, 401 Sager St.
-- The Weston County reception begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the Forest Service Building of the USDA Center, 1225 Washington Blvd. in Newcastle.
In addition to the public receptions, Day is scheduled to visit with school officials, staff members and students in the three counties.
