UW Energy Resources Council to Meet Nov. 14

November 5, 2014

The University of Wyoming Energy Resources Council (ERC) will meet at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in the BP Collaboration Center in the Energy Innovation Center on the UW campus.

Council members will hear updates on ongoing projects, including the High Bay Research Facility and fundraising efforts. Council members also will review and take action on Nielson Energy Fellowships.

The council will reconvene after lunch as the Advanced Conversion Technologies Task Force (ACTTF) to hear various project updates.

In addition, the ERC will meet with the UW Board of Trustees at the Energy Innovation Center at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13. The Board of Trustees will tour facilities at the Energy Innovation Center, including the Shell 3-D Visualization Laboratory and the Hess Digital Rock Physics Laboratory, followed by a joint meeting in which the board will hear a presentation on the status of and plans for the UW School of Energy Resources.

The ERC was established by the Wyoming State Legislature in 2006. Made up of representatives from industry, state government and academia, the council provides direction to the School of Energy Resources on priorities for research and outreach. The ACTTF consists of the voting members of the Energy Resources Council; it awards funds for advanced conversion research.

The School of Energy Resources provides undergraduate and graduate education, conducts research on existing and emerging energy resources, and disseminates scientific, engineering and economic information to support Wyoming’s near- and long-term energy future.

People with disabilities requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting should contact the School of Energy Resources at (307) 766-6897. Information about the School of Energy Resources is available at www.uwyo.edu/SER.
