Wyoming State High School Football Championship Results

The University of Wyoming is playing host to the Wyoming State High School Football Championships Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-15. For more information about the Wyoming High School Athletic Association, go to http://www.whsaa.org/.

Following are results from the title games:

Natrona County Wins the State 4-A Football Title

Nov. 15, 2014 -- Natrona County won their 17th state 4-A championship Saturday at War Memorial Stadium, downing the Gillette Camels 30-7.

The 11-0 Natrona County Mustangs last won the championship in 2012. The Camels, who last won the title in 2009, finished 9-2 for the season.

Cokeville Wins 26-6 Over Lusk For 1A 11-Man Title

Nov. 15, 2014 – Cokeville captured its 22nd football championship in program history, winning the 1A 11-man title 26-6 over Lusk Saturday at War Memorial Stadium.

The Panthers broke open a tight game in the second half to finish the year unbeaten at 12-0, bringing their overall record to 22 consecutive wins. The Tigers of Lusk, playing in the state title game for the fourth time in five years, lost for the first time in 10 games.

Mountain View Wins 2A State Championship

Nov. 15, 2014 -- The Mountain View Buffaloes upset the top-ranked Big Horn Rams 28-19 to win the 2A state title. It was the Buffaloes’ first championship since 1997.

The 9-1 Buffaloes triumphed Saturday morning at War Memorial Stadium against the 10-0 Rams in a rematch of last year’s championship game.

Cody Wins First State Title Since 1991

Nov. 14, 2014 -- It took 23 years, but the Cody Broncs got their first state football title since the 1991 season.

Cody defeated perennial 3A power Douglas 19-0 to win the school’s fourth state football championship overall, winning on Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium late Friday afternoon. The Broncs finished the season with a 10-1 record, avenging its only loss of the season to the Bearcats earlier in the year. Douglas, which last won a state title four years ago, finished second for the third straight season, and ended the year with a 9-2 mark.

Guernsey-Sunrise Claims 1A Six-Man Championship

Nov. 14, 2014 -- In a high-scoring contest, the top-ranked and undefeated Vikings of Guernsey-Sunrise won the 1A six-man state title 80-30 over the Dubois Rams Friday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium. It was a rematch of last year’s championship game between the two schools and the highest-scoring game in Wyoming prep football history.

Guernsey-Sunrise finished the season 11-0 winning its fourth state championship in the last 10 years, while Dubois ended the year 8-3.
