Events promoting positive and healthy body image will be offered during Body Image Awareness Week March 2-6 at the University of Wyoming.
Dr. Caroline Neumann of the Eating Disorder Center of Denver will kick off the activities with a presentation, “Eating Disorders, Body Image and Media: Making Sense of the Messages,” from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, in Wyoming Union Room 203.
Among other highlights of the week, which has a theme of “Shatter the Façade”:

Wednesday, March 4, 4-5:30 p.m. -- Jane Warren and Natasha Trujillo, “The Mirror Within: What Does Your Reflection Show?,” Wyoming Union Room 203.
Wednesday, March 4, 5-6 p.m. -- Katie Lear, “Body Shame and Eating Disorders Across College Campuses: Signs and Solutions,” Wyoming Union Room 212.
Thursday, March 5, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. -- “It Takes Two to Tango: The Relationship Between Media and Body Image,” panel discussion featuring Molly Dinkins, Ruth Bjorkenwall and Susan Dewey, College of Education Annex Room 215.
Friday, March 6, 9-10 a.m. -- Jasmine Austin, “Body Consciousness: Enhancing Personal Development through Self-Awareness,” Wyoming Union Room 212.
Friday, March 6, 11 a.m.-noon -- “Break the Mold: Discover What Body Image is to You,” Wyoming Union Room 212.
Friday, March 6, 2-3 p.m. – “Find Your Body’s Rhythm,” swing dance club and Campus Recreation, Wyoming Union Room 212.
