To celebrate the Nepali New Year 2072 B.S., Friends of Nepal at the University of Wyoming (FNUW) hosts the annual Celebrate Nepal event Saturday, April 18. This event helps to expose the UW community to Nepali culture through dance, music and food.
Celebrate Nepal begins at 5 p.m. in the UW College of Education auditorium with a cultural show, including Nepali dances, songs and a short presentation about Nepal. This event is free and open to the public.
Following the cultural show will be a Nepali dinner at 7:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. The dinner will feature traditional Nepali dishes, including chicken curry, naan, chicken tandoori and vegetarian curry. Tickets are required for the dinner and will be distributed for free at the Wyoming Union information desk this week with a valid WyoOne ID (two tickets per ID).
A dance party follows the dinner.
FNUW has hosted Celebrate Nepal since 2009.
