Some UW Operations Continue; Alumni Events Still On

Today’s early closure of classes and business operations at the University of Wyoming has not shut down everything on campus for the weekend.

The Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center is open today (Friday) until 10 p.m. and will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday for normal weekend hours.

Washakie Dining Center is open for regular business hours and is open for those without meal plans.

Meanwhile, the Wyoming Union is closed until 9 a.m. Saturday. All scheduled Union events are canceled for today (Friday).

UW’s Student Health Service is closed until Monday. Students should be referred to urgent care or Ivinson Memorial Hospital (307) 742-2141.

UW Alumni Association business operations are closed this afternoon, but the UWAA still plans to host both its Board of Directors reunion from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the Alumni House at 214 S. 14th St., and its 120th Anniversary Gala on Saturday from 6-9 p.m. in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.

“Given the changing and unpredictable road and weather conditions, we advise all of our guests planning to attend to please use your best judgment when making your travel plans and do not travel if in doubt of your safety,” UWAA Director Keener Fry says. “We look forward to celebrating with those who are able to attend.”
