Kathleen Bobbitt will lead an office that administers $105 million in financial aid.

Kathleen Bobbitt has been selected as the University of Wyoming's director of Student Financial Aid, effective July 1.

She has 25 years of student financial aid experience, including 14 years in leadership roles. She will lead an office of 19 full-time employees that administers approximately $105 million in federal, state and private financial aid and scholarships.

“Kathy is a steadfast and confident leader who brings seasoned expertise in enrollment management from a financial aid perspective to her leadership at UW,” says Sara Axelson, UW vice president for student affairs. “Her experience and expertise give her a great background for this position.”

She says Bobbitt will join other key administrators in delivering enrollment management services and coordinating student recruiting and retention initiatives.

Bobbitt worked for the Student Financial Aid office as a loan specialist from 1990-2001, and was promoted to assistant director (2001) and associate director (2003). She has been the unit’s interim director since March.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the UW College of Business in 1993.
