UW Community Activities Set for 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance

September 9, 2015

The University of Wyoming Service, Leadership and Community Engagement (SLCE) office is partnering with the Laramie Fire Department for a National Day of Service and Remembrance Friday, Sept. 11.

Events will include a flag ceremony at 8:45 a.m. at the Laramie Fire Department, located at Fourth Street and Ivinson Avenue, and a memorial stair climb at War Memorial Stadium at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the stair climb will begin at 6 p.m. at the stadium.

The SLCE office encourages students and community members to take part in the Good Deed Challenge. The challenge asks participants to complete a small act of service to promote the sense of unity and compassion that arose in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

For more information, visit the SLCE website at, like the Wyoming Union on Facebook, or follow SLCE on Twitter and Instagram @SLCE_UW.
