Two of the three finalists for the position of director of the University of Wyoming’s American Heritage Center are scheduled to visit the university this week.
The candidates are J. Wendel Cox, assistant librarian and archivist in special collections for the University of Arizona Libraries; and Bruce Montgomery, faculty director of archives and faculty fellow in the Media Archaeology Lab for the University of Colorado at Boulder Libraries.
Cox is scheduled to visit UW today (Monday) and Tuesday, Nov. 16-17. He will give a public presentation today from 4-5 p.m. in Room 133 of the Classroom Building. The title of the talk is “Making it Count: Users, Use and the Future of Special Collections.”
Montgomery will visit Thursday and Friday, Nov. 19-20. His public presentation is Thursday from 4-5 p.m. in Room 222 of the Classroom Building. The title of his talk is “Seizure and Restitution of Saddam Hussein’s Archives of Atrocity.”
The other finalist for the position, Bridget Burke, dean of libraries at North Dakota State University, visited UW and gave her public presentation last week.
