International Education Week at the University of Wyoming continues through Saturday, Nov. 21.
The International Student Association (ISA) collaborates with the Associated Students of UW (ASUW) to host the activities.
“The University of Wyoming and the city of Laramie are fortunate to have a rich community of students and faculty from international backgrounds,” says Brian Schueler, ASUW president. “Students from other countries bring an important diversity of cultures and ideas to our campus, providing opportunities for education, growth and friendships, which would otherwise be impossible.”
Various events will take place on campus to celebrate international diversity. International Education Week events are:
Tuesday, Nov. 17, 4 p.m. -- Members and volunteers will work to sew clothes for children in need, Wyoming Union behind Rolling Mills.
Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1 p.m. -- ISA will host a panel discussion about the Syrian refugee crisis, Room 129 of the Classroom Building.
Thursday, Nov. 19, 4 p.m. -- Washakie Dining Center will collaborate with ISA to provide an authentic Mediterranean dinner menu.
Friday, Nov. 20, 9 p.m. -- International Night will be held in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. There will be a dance competition, performances and food provided.
