UW Offers Training on Duty to Report Sexual Misconduct

University of Wyoming employees soon will have the opportunity to receive training on issues related to responding to sexual misconduct.

The training course, “Sexual Misconduct and the Duty to Report,” will be offered for all employees beginning today (Monday, Jan. 4). It will be available through both in-person and online instruction.

“All university employees are responsible for responding to and reporting sexual misconduct,” UW President Dick McGinity says. “This course will remind all of us of our obligations in this regard.”

The course will provide background information pertaining to laws and definitions of sexual misconduct, outline every employee’s duty to report, and provide information on what happens after an incident is reported.

A member of the training team will work with the vice president for your division to coordinate options to take this training. In addition, beginning March 1, the training team will offer two training opportunities a month for all new employees. New employees are required to complete the in-person or online training within 90 days of employment.

If you have any questions, contact Janean Forsyth Lefevre at (307) 766-5608 or jforsyth@uwyo.edu. More information is available here.
