The University of Wyoming’s Department of Art and Art History’s annual Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, “BFA 2016,” can be seen April 4-May 13. A reception for the exhibition will take place Friday, May 13, from 6-8 p.m. in the Visual Arts Building Gallery, on the corner of 22nd Street and Willett Drive.

"The BFA degree program is offered to outstanding students who are preparing for further art studies, careers and professional activity beyond the undergraduate level,"  says Diana Baumbach, associate professor in the Department of Art and Art History. “The BFA graduates are selected by application and portfolio submission and review. The degree is considered the honors program in the Department of Art, and is the preferred degree for students preparing for graduate school and professional careers in the visual arts.”

“BFA 2016” will consist of works made by eight of UW’s graduating BFA students: Jess Beilharz, Quinn Anna Goldhammer, Emily Haase Edgar, Naomi Peterson, Mark Sanders, Kyle D. Summerfield, Millie Vercauteren and Mackenzie Wiginton.

The work ranges from painting, printmaking and sculpture to interactive video and stop-motion animation. The Visual Arts Building Gallery is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
