Final Week to View 41st Annual Juried UW Student Exhibition

This is the final week to view the 41st annual Juried UW Student Exhibition that ends Saturday, March 19, at the University of Wyoming Art Museum.

Dan Mills, director of the Bates College Museum of Art and lecturer in the humanities, juried the exhibition. Any student enrolled at UW during the current academic year was eligible to enter. This year, 63 students submitted 170 original works of art for the exhibition, from which 62 artworks by 49 students were selected.

Each year, UW administration and departments, in additional to businesses and individuals interested in supporting the work of students, provide cash and purchase awards. Award-winning students this year are:

Bakersfield, Calif. -- Hannah Sease.

Casper -- Rebekah Merlino, Bret Wolfe.

Cheyenne -- Alyssa Maurer.

Cody -- Olivia Christensen.

Dallas, Texas -- Jessica Beilharz.

Gillette -- Cody Anderson.

Greybull -- Ezra Hanson.

Jackson -- Bridger Huhn, Evan Slafter, Yara Thomas and Chalice Weichman.

Lander -- Josh Neugass, Garret Scaromce and Shantel Wright.

Laramie -- Garrett Cruzan, Kyle Summerfield and Dewayne Tillman.

Masonville, Colo. -- Haley Stebbins.

Quincy, Ill. -- Naomi Peterson.

Rock Springs -- Zach Bath, Hannah Hughes.

Through its “Museum as Classroom” approach, the UW Art Museum places art at the center of learning for all ages. The museum is located in the Centennial Complex at 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday hours are extended to 7 p.m. February through April and September through November. Admission is free.
