Low registrations and sponsorship have prompted the University of Wyoming’s Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) to cancel the 10th annual EORCO2 Conference July 12-14 in Casper.
“After some difficult discussions, we have decided to cancel the conference as it was configured,” says Rob Hurless, EORI’s deputy director. “However, EORI still believes in the merit of the agenda and will seek to preserve substantial elements of the conference. To that end, the plan going forward over the next several months is to do a series of focused workshops/events with the conference speakers and presenters as the anchors for these events.”
As the workshops and events are arranged with the presenters, EORI will publicize the schedule and venue of each event.
The annual EORCO2 Conference has been a collaboration among large and small operators, local representatives and industry stakeholders. The majority of the costs for the conference are covered by industry sponsors who support and invest in enhanced oil recovery. The event has featured industry professionals from across the state and country discussing new, emerging research and technologies relevant to improved and enhanced oil recovery applicable to existing Wyoming oil fields.
