University of Wyoming Calendar for July 11

These are among the activities scheduled July 11-17 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, July 12, 1-3 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host “Paint Pony Express: Storymakers” for children ages 3-5. Free. To register, call (307) 766-3515.

Tuesday, July 12-Saturday, July 16, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Theatre and Dance presents “I Ought to Be in Pictures” in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Thrust Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public, and $7 for students, senior citizens and children age 5 and older. Wednesday, July 13, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Denver-based band SIR will perform for the UW Summer Programs concert series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Wednesday, July 13, 1-3 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host “Paint Pony Express: Storymakers” for children ages 6-8. Free. To register, call (307) 766-3515.

Wednesday, July 13, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music will host “Open Mic Night” with participants of the Whole Musician Retreat in the Performing Arts Center recital hall. Free.

Thursday, July 14, 1-3 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host “Paint Pony Express: Storymakers” for children ages 9-11. Free. To register, call (307) 766-3515.

Friday, July 15, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music will host the Whole Musician Performers’ Recital, part I in the Performing Arts Center recital hall. Free.

Friday, July 15, 8 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Summer Skies.” A STAR Observatory tour follows at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Saturday, July 16, 11 a.m. -- Planetarium show, “Cold Stuff in Space.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Saturday, July 16, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music will host the Whole Musician Performers’ Recital, part II in the Performing Arts Center recital hall. Free.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum, open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
