UW Employees Can Take One Course Per Semester for Free

July 5, 2016

University of Wyoming employees are reminded that they’re entitled to take one UW course per semester, with the university covering tuition.

Full-time and part-time employees can take advantage of the benefit each regular semester and the summer session, for both undergraduate and graduate courses. The benefit covers one course of up to six credit-hours per semester.

“The Board of Trustees approved this benefit because we believe in employees and want them to have professional development and educational opportunity,” UW President Laurie Nichols says. “As employees are able to fit classes into their work schedules, this is something of which we encourage them to avail themselves.”

For spouses of full-time UW employees, meanwhile, the university will pay half of the tuition expenses for UW credit courses each regular semester and summer session. Spouses of part-time employees are eligible for one-half of that benefit.

If you are a spouse of a university employee as well as a university employee, you are eligible for either the employee’s privileges or spouse’s privileges, but not both.
