Advancements and challenges in Wyoming’s efforts to conserve wildlife habitat while promoting natural resource production will be explored in a workshop in Casper Sept. 8-9.

The Wyoming Habitat Restoration Workshop originally was scheduled to take place in April, but severe weather prompted it to be rescheduled.

The workshop, hosted by the Wyoming Reclamation and Restoration Center (WRRC) at the University of Wyoming, will take place at the Casper Events Center.

Presentations and discussion will focus on natural resource production, wildlife and land management, and restoration and reclamation in Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain region. Participants will include state and federal government leaders, UW researchers, and representatives of both industry and environmental organizations.

“We will discuss recent reclamation efforts, examine future management concerns and facilitate robust discussion on issues warranting attention for securing a sustainable natural resource future,” WRRC Director Pete Stahl says.

More information about the workshop, including opportunities to participate, is available at www.uwyo.edu/ser/conferences/upcoming-events/restoration-2016.html.

Questions may be directed to Stahl at unclem@uwyo.edu.
