A night of glow-in-the-dark activities is part of the University of Wyoming 7220 Entertainment’s Glow Fest Friday, Sept. 16, at 9 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. The event is free to UW students.

Glow Fest will include a variety of activities, such as crafts, dance, blacklight billiards and a glow pop-up paint party.

DJ Mikey Thunder, with special guest Gangsterish, will perform at Glow Fest. Thunder plays a genre-blending, bass-driven party rock, fusing electronic beats with funk, hip-hop, soul, jazz, blues, swing and reggae, as well as any requests from the party. With 19 years of practice, Thunder has mastered the art of improvisation.

Gangsterish, based in Boulder, Colo., is a master of melting old sounds with new into feel-good vibes. He has a unique flavor of electro swing. He is the resident DJ at the Bohemian Biergarten in Boulder, and is the winner of the 2014 Bus to Show Best Performing Artist award.

Also, that same evening, the classic film “Tron” (1982) will be shown at 10:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Family Room.

Disney's “Tron” stars Jeff Bridges as computer programmer Kevin Flynn, who becomes part of the very game that he has designed. Flynn's principal antagonist is his glory-grabbing boss, Ed Dillinger (David Warner), who also metamorphoses into a video-game character. The title character, a computer-generated superhero, is played by Bruce Boxleitner.

7220 Entertainment is seeking volunteers to join one or more of its five committees responsible for planning events for UW students. For more information about any of the committees and meeting times, visit www.uwyo.edu/union/cac/7220-entertainment/how-to-join.html.

The Late Night Events Committee, which organized Glow Fest, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center in Room 012 of the Wyoming Union.
