University of Wyoming Calendar for Oct. 3

These are among the activities scheduled Oct. 3-9 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Oct. 3-Saturday, Oct. 8 -- Homecoming week at UW. For a schedule of events, go to www.uwyo.edu/homecoming.

Monday, Oct. 3, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. -- The eighth annual e-Volution Conference to help teachers and trainers discover innovative ways to enhance teaching and learning will be held in Coe Library. For more information, visit www.wyoforum.org. Free.

Monday, Oct. 3, 11 a.m.-noon -- UW’s 2016 United Way campaign will begin with a campus campaign kickoff in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. The event will feature refreshments and information about the United Way of Albany County and the 16 nonprofit organizations it supports. Free.

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. -- The Wyoming secretary of state’s office presents the first Wyoming Youth Voter Summit at the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band will perform at 7 p.m. Free.

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “This Month’s Sky.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Wednesday, Oct. 5, noon-12:30 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host “Lunchtime Conversations with Curators,” an informal gallery walk-through. Free.

Wednesday, Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents Repertory Dance Theatre in the Laramie High School auditorium. Tickets cost $15 for the public; $12 for senior citizens, UW faculty and staff; and $10 for students. Tickets are available at the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Thursday, Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Chamber Orchestra will perform “Germany Meets the U.S.” in the Performing Arts concert hall. Free.

Friday, Oct. 7, 9-11 a.m. -- The UW School of Nursing will host an open house on the third floor of the Health Sciences Center. The event will include tours of the Clinical Simulation Center and light refreshments.

Friday, Oct. 7, 10:30 a.m. -- A groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction of the Engineering Education and Research Building will take place near 11th and Lewis streets.

Friday, Oct. 7, 3 p.m. -- Cowgirl soccer vs. Air Force, Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. Ticket prices vary.

Friday, Oct. 7, 6:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. -- The 7220 Entertainment Films Committee presents the Gnarly Film Festival. Snowboarding and skiing films “Tight Loose” and “Valhalla” will be shown in the Wyoming Union Family Room. Free.

Friday, Oct. 7, 8 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “Moons!” A Laser Gaga laser light show follows at 9:10 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Saturday, Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m. -- The UW Homecoming parade begins at Ninth and Ivinson streets. Paul and Marge Roach are this year’s grand marshals.

Saturday, Oct. 8, 11 a.m. -- Planetarium show, “Constellations for Beginners.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in Room 204 of the Physical Sciences Building.

Saturday, Oct. 8, 1:30 p.m. -- Homecoming football game, Cowboys vs. Air Force, War Memorial Stadium. Ticket prices vary.

Sunday, Oct. 9, 1 p.m. -- Cowgirl soccer vs. Colorado College, Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. Ticket prices vary.

Sunday, Oct. 9, 3 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music’s Faculty Recital Series presents “Sonatas for Cello & Piano” in the Performing Arts recital hall. Free.

Sunday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m. -- The UW debate team will host a presidential debate watch party in the UW College of Business auditorium. Free.
