Town-Hall Meeting on UW Fiscal Plan Wednesday

October 10, 2016

University of Wyoming President Laurie Nichols and UW’s Financial Crisis Advisory Committee (FCAC) will detail their plan to reduce UW’s 2017-18 fiscal year budget during a town-hall meeting Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Wyoming Union ballroom.

Nichols has approved 90 minutes of release time for UW employees to attend. The scheduling of release time should be a collaborative discussion between employee and supervisor to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the unit.

UW employees and students also may view the meeting via the WyoCast system at https://wyocast.uwyo.edu/WyoCast/Play/8a3db3751df948aa902d8e3efa3af1661d.

In addition to a presentation by Nichols and FCAC Chair Stephen Bieber, Rob Godby, who co-chairs a subcommittee looking at potential program fees for high-cost academic programs, will speak. The meeting also will include a question-and-answer period.

The FCAC has been meeting regularly to help the president prepare a plan to reduce spending in the 2018 fiscal year to present to the Board of Trustees in November.

The FCAC and the president continue to invite input from the campus community and others via email as well as in person. People are encouraged to email their comments and ideas to uwpres@uwyo.edu.
