The University of Wyoming Cultural Programs presents the Cashore Marionettes Thursday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

Tickets cost $15 for the public; $12 for senior citizens, UW faculty and staff; and $10 for students. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Characters of depth, integrity and humanity are portrayed in a full evening. The performance is a series of scenes taken from everyday life and set to music by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss and Copland.

Through a combination of virtuoso manipulation, humor, pathos, classic music and poetic insight, the Cashore Marionettes take the audience on a journey that celebrates the richness of life.

Joseph Cashore has received numerous awards for his artistry, including a Pew Fellowship for Performance Art, based upon his artistic accomplishment; a Henson Foundation Grant, an award intended to help promote puppetry to adult audiences; and a UNIMA-USA Citation of Excellence, the highest honor an American puppeteer can receive.

Each year, UW Cultural Programs brings a variety of internationally known performers to campus, often at ticket prices much less than at larger venues. This season features two remaining performances during the fall semester and six spring semester performances.

The two remaining fall Cultural Programs events are: 17-year-old acclaimed pianist Daniel Hsu, Friday, Nov. 18; and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Tuesday, Dec. 6.
