University of Wyoming Calendar for Nov. 28

Nov. 23, 2016 -- These are among the activities scheduled Nov. 28-Dec. 4 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, Nov. 29, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “From Earth to the Universe.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Tuesday, Nov. 29, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Collegiate Chorale will present its annual candlelight concert at St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Tickets cost $10 for the public, $7 for senior citizens and $6 for students. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 9-11 a.m. -- The University Counseling Center will offer UW Gatekeepers Suicide Prevention Training to interested students, faculty, staff and community members. The training session will take place in the Wyoming Union, Room 203. For more information, call (307) 766-2187.

Wednesday, Nov. 30, 6 p.m. -- Former U.S. Ambassador Gary Grappo will discuss “United States Foreign Policy in the Middle East & President Trump” in the Classroom Building, Room 133. Free.

Thursday, Dec. 1, 5-8 p.m. -- The UW Ceramic Art Guild will host a silent auction in the Visual Arts Building lobby.

Thursday, Dec. 1, 6-8 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host a tree lighting and silent auction.  

Thursday, Dec. 1, 7 p.m. -- Jenna Divis, a victim of abuse by a pornography addict, will discuss “How Porn Harms” in the Business Building, Room 129. Free.

Thursday, Dec. 1, 7 p.m. -- Studio WYO presents musical performances by The Littlest Birds and Will Flagg in the Wyoming Union Gardens. Free.

Thursday, Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. -- The UW Department of Music presents the Greg Osby Quartet in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Friday, Dec. 2, noon -- The Center for Global Studies and Global and Area Studies Faculty Speaker Series presents Carolyne Larson, assistant professor in the UW Department of History. Her talk, “Argentina's Lost Genocide,” will be in the Cheney International Center, Room 229. Free.

Friday, Dec. 2, 4-8 p.m. -- UW’s Chi Omega sorority hosts “Believing at 7220,” a letter-writing event to raise money for Make-A-Wish. The event will talk place at the Chi Omega sorority house, located at 1630 E. Sorority Row. For every letter written to Santa, $1 will be donated to Make-A-Wish. Free and open to the public.

Friday, Dec. 2, 4:10 p.m. -- The UW Department of Anthropology Fall 2016 Seminar Series presents Trevor Durbin from UW. He will discuss “Vague Pacific: Big Ocean Conservation and Island Microstates.” The talk will take place in the Anthropology Building, Room 150. Free.

Friday, Dec. 2, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Southern Utah, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.
