UW Chi Omega Hosts Letter Writing Fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Dec. 2

University of Wyoming’s sorority Chi Omega hosts the third annual “Believing at 7220” letter writing event to raise money for Make-A-Wish Friday, Dec. 2, from 4-8 p.m.

The event will take place at the Chi Omega sorority house, located at 1630 E. Sorority Row. Hot chocolate and cookies for “Believing at 7220” participants will be provided. Chi Omega members have an informational table in the Wyoming Union to explain the event.

“Believing at 7220” partners Chi Omega with Macy’s Believe letter writing campaign. For every letter written to Santa, Macy’s department stores donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children battling life-threatening diseases. Chi Omega raised approximately $27,000 for last year’s event.

“Our goal this year is to raise $30,000. We work hard for about two months to raise as much money as we can so that children can have their wishes granted,” says Shelby Johnsen, Chi Omega community service chair. “Since writing letters is essentially free, I think the event draws in a lot of people because they are able to give back and help out by taking the time to write a letter to Santa.”
