University of Wyoming Calendar for Jan. 30

These are among the activities scheduled Jan. 30-Feb. 5 at the University of Wyoming:

Monday, Jan. 30-Saturday, Feb. 4 -- Martin Luther King Jr. Days of Dialogue (MLK DOD) events begin with the annual march and Willena Stanford Community Supper. Free.

Tuesday, Jan. 31, 5:30-6:30 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host “Evening Conversations with Curators.” Free.

Tuesday, Jan. 31, 7 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “This Month's Sky.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Wednesday, Feb. 1, 6:30 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. San Diego State, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Wednesday, Feb. 1, 8 p.m. -- Native American hip-hop artist and producer Frank Waln will perform with special guest Tanaya Winder in the Wyoming Union Gardens, located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Free.

Thursday, Feb. 2, 6 p.m. -- UW Gallery 234 will host a reception for “When Do We Start Judging,” an exhibition featuring photographs from the student organization Real Women, Real Bodies. The reception will be in the gallery, located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Free.

Thursday, Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m. -- Franchesca Ramsey, actress, comedian and video blogger, is the keynote speaker for MLK DOD. She will speak in the Wyoming Union Ballroom. Free.

Friday, Feb. 3, 6 p.m. -- A reception for Alia Gonzales and Garrid Halsey, student artists, will be in the Visual Arts Building, THIS and THAT galleries. Free.

Friday, Feb. 3, 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. -- The 7220 Entertainment Films Committee and African American and Diaspora Studies will present the movie “Loving” in the Wyoming Union Family Room. A panel discussion with UW faculty will follow the 6 p.m. screening. Free.

Friday, Feb. 3, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Cultural Programs presents Escher String Quartet in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. Tickets cost $17 for the public; $14 for senior citizens, UW faculty and staff; and $10 for students. Friday, Feb. 3, 8 p.m. -- Planetarium show, “The Search for Terra Nova.” A STAR Observatory tour (weather dependent) follows at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host “Family Saturday Workshop” for families and individuals of all ages. Free.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 2 p.m. -- Cowgirl basketball vs. Air Force, Arena-Auditorium. Ticket prices vary.

Saturday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m. -- Cowboy wrestling vs. Air Force, UniWyo Sports Complex. Ticket prices vary.
