Outdoor adventure films will be screened during the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour Wednesday, Feb. 22, and Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
UW’s 7220 Entertainment and Outdoor Program, along with Cross Country Connection and NU2U Sports, sponsor the outdoor film festival.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival began small, reaching only three cities in Canada. In 1986, the festival began an outreach program to bring its films to other communities. The organizers’ objective was to share the talent of the world’s finest mountain filmmakers to larger audiences.
Today, the tour brings mountain films to thousands of people who cannot make the annual trek to the Canadian Rockies.
