Campus Construction Update for March 26-April 1

March 24, 2017

(Note: The weekly construction update highlights only projects with new developments. Comprehensive updates are distributed monthly. For the most recent comprehensive update, click here.)

These are among the construction activities scheduled March 26-April 1 at the University of Wyoming:

Colder Weather Advisory (UW Operations) -- UW Operations asks building occupants to assist with ensuring buildings and facilities are safe and secure. Make sure all windows and doors are completely closed with windows latched at the end of each day, and report any doors or windows that you are unable to close and secure to the Service Desk (766-6225).

Snow Removal (UW Operations) -- Crews will remove snow as needed throughout the season. Watch for snow-removal equipment; be careful and safe during snow events. Call the Service Desk (766-6225) to report icy spots and problem areas.

UW Operations reports the following activities for the week:

College of Law (Plumbing Shop, UW Operations) -- Installation of a new ADA-compliant drinking water and bottle filling station is taking place in the basement of the College of Law Building. Work will cause noise disturbance at times, as it is in the library area. Please use caution around crews.

Mick and Susie McMurry High Altitude Performance Center (Construction manager at risk GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Jackson; June 2018) -- Steel erection for the building is in progress. Although overhead work will be limited to within the construction fence, there will be mobilization of cranes, along with heavier truck traffic in this area. The crane has been moved to the south center of the new building footprint. This will limit the pedestrian access across the north side of the football field on the concrete walkway. Pedestrians will now access the Fieldhouse and the Arena-Auditorium by walking across the field itself; the path is slightly south of the north goal posts. All other pedestrian access routes remain. Please use caution when in or near this area.

Engineering Education and Research Building (EERB) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming, Casper; spring 2019) -- Underground utility work will begin in early April. Click here to see a map showing revisions to bus routes and street closures. Please observe all construction signs. There also will be a significant amount of work taking place near the Anthropology Building. Please stay clear of the work zone.

The following project is complete:

Classroom Building (UW Operations) -- The broken water line repair has been completed. Thank you for your cooperation.
