According to recent statistics, 93 percent of all purchase decisions are influenced by social media. Small-business owners need to understand how to compose posts that will drive potential customers to their brands.

Eric Spellmann, a well-known speaker and consultant on social media public relations, will present the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) webinar, titled “Four Steps to Writing the Perfect Business Social Media Post,” Thursday, June 1, from 2-3 p.m.

The SBDC is a partnership among the University of Wyoming, the Wyoming Business Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBDC focuses on educating small-business owners and potential owners on how to successfully start and operate small businesses. The SBDC’s main office is located at UW.

In this session, Spellmann will guide attendees through writing their own posts, based on a four-step model. His online marketing video series, which educates business owners on the latest internet success marketing tools and strategies, has more than half a million views, with fans, followers and customers originating from all over the world. Attendees will leave with a ready-to-implement business social media strategy and the tools to see immediate success.

The registration fee for the webinar is $15, and attendees must register at www.wyomingsbdc.org to obtain the link to the webinar. The program will be recorded for anyone unable to attend at that time.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. For more information, call Bruce Morse at (307) 754-2139.

The Wyoming SBDC Network is a business advising group of the Wyoming SBDC, Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Market Research Center and SBIR/STTR Initiative. The network’s mission is to help Wyoming entrepreneurs succeed. Advising and most market research activities are free of charge to Wyoming residents.

The SBDC is funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA. Additional support is provided by the Wyoming Business Council and UW.
