Two UW VP for Student Affairs Finalists to Speak This Week

Two of three finalists for the position of vice president for student affairs at the University of Wyoming are scheduled to give public presentations this week.

The candidates are Tim Alvarez, vice president for student affairs at North Dakota State University; Sean Blackburn, UW’s current associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students; and Bill Schafer, most recently the vice president for student life at West Virginia University.

As part of a two-day interview, each candidate is scheduled to give a public presentation.

Blackburn’s public presentation is from 3:30-4:45 p.m. today (Monday) in the Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center auditorium. The presentation will be streamed via WyoCast at https://wyocast.uwyo.edu/WyoCast/Play/92d2f181da6d471d85fe4056e3d88bb11d. To learn more about him, go here.

The vice president for student affairs oversees UW units focused on student life, including Residence Life and Dining Services, the Dean of Students Office, Campus Recreation, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Student Health Service, the University Counseling Center and the Wyoming Union.
