To help kick off the fall semester, University of Wyoming’s 7220 Entertainment, in partnership with Fraternity and Sorority Life, will host Casino Night Saturday, Sept. 2, at 9 p.m. in the Wyoming Union. The event is free and open to all UW students.

In the upper level of the Wyoming Union, students will have the opportunity to play casino games such as slot machines, poker and blackjack, plus bingo and trivia for prizes. No actual money will be used; students will be given tokens when they arrive and will need to present their student IDs.

Karaoke, a mocktail lounge and a dessert bar will be available in the Senate Chambers, also located on the Wyoming Union’s second floor.

Comedy magician Brian Miller will perform at 10 p.m. in the Wyoming Union East Ballroom. Miller is a nationally acclaimed variety artist and motivational speaker. Best known for the TEDx Talk program “How to Magically Connect with Anyone,” Miller uses a unique blend of comedy, magic and mind reading to deliver a message about the power of connecting.

He has become one of the most popular TEDx speakers, inspiring nearly 2 million people worldwide. Campus Activities Magazine has recognized Miller twice as one of “America’s Best Performers.”

7220 Entertainment is seeking volunteers to join its five committees responsible for planning events for UW students throughout the year. 7220 Entertainment will host a general interest meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, in Pete’s Game Room, located on the lower floor of the Wyoming Union.

For more information about any of the committees and a listing of meeting times, visit www.uwyo.edu/union/cac/7220-entertainment/how-to-join.html.

The Late-Night Events Committee, responsible for producing Casino Night, meets Thursdays at 4 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center (CAC), located in Room 012 of the Wyoming Union.
