Comedian John Mulaney to Perform Sept. 8 at UW

Tickets are still available for comedian John Mulaney’s show Friday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. in the University of Wyoming College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Student tickets cost $20 with a valid UW student ID; tickets for the public are $40. Tickets are available at the Wyoming Union information desk and the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts box office or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

UW’s 7220 Entertainment sponsors Mulaney’s stand-up show.

Mulaney, an Emmy Award-winning writer and comedian, most recently starred in the Broadway hit “Oh, Hello on Broadway” alongside Nick Kroll.

He began his career in New York’s East Village and has toured around the world. His most notable work has been from the show “Saturday Night Live.” In 2008, he started writing for the show, where he appeared as a “Weekend Update” correspondent and co-created characters such as “Stefon” with Bill Hader.

He currently writes for IFC’s “Documentary Now” and for Netflix’s original series “Big Mouth,” where he voices the character of Andrew, a young boy dealing with the struggles of becoming a teenager.

Mulaney’s first comedy album, “The Top Part,” was released in 2009, followed by “New in Town” in 2012. In 2015, Mulaney performed a Netflix original stand-up show, titled “The Comeback Kid,” which the A.V. Club called “his best hour of his career.”
