September 27, 2017

Listening sessions regarding the future of 15th Street on the University of Wyoming campus are scheduled next week.

The Associated Students of UW, in cooperation with Laramie city officials, will conduct the sessions at the following times and locations:

-- Tuesday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m., Laramie City Hall.

-- Wednesday, Oct. 4, noon, UW College of Law, Room 186.

-- Thursday, Oct. 5, 12:30 p.m., Wyoming Union Senate Chambers.

-- Saturday, Oct. 7, 11 a.m., Laramie Community Recreation Center.

Members of the UW and Laramie communities are invited to the sessions.

The 2017 Wyoming Legislature, in a budget footnote, directed the university to hold discussions on the possible elimination of through-traffic on 15th Street between Ivinson Avenue and Willett Drive, in order to enhance the safety of pedestrians and to unify the campus.

UW and city officials have held initial discussions regarding options to meet the intent of the footnote.
