Annual Thanksgiving Dinner at UW Nov. 20

A traditional holiday feast will be served at the annual Thanksgiving dinner Monday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom. The event is for UW students and open to the public.

Students each will receive one free ticket beginning Monday, Nov. 6, at the Wyoming Union information desk. Students also are encouraged to donate canned food items when picking up their ticket.

Tickets for the public also will go on sale Nov. 6 at the Wyoming Union information desk at $10 per person, or free with a donation of three canned food items when picking up their tickets. Space is limited, and each person can purchase two tickets.

UW Catering and Events will prepare the traditional meal of roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, rolls and butter, and a variety of pies, including pumpkin.

“Bring your appetite and a canned good donation to help those in need during the Thanksgiving season,” says Vanessa Alvarez, 7220 Entertainment events coordinator.

7220 Entertainment’s Club Events Committee, which organized the Thanksgiving dinner, meets Mondays at 5 p.m. in the Campus Activities Center (CAC), located in Room 012 of the Wyoming Union.
