Elephant Revival to Perform at UW Nov. 29

The folk music group Elephant Revival and featured special guest The Deer, will perform at the University of Wyoming Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 8 p.m. in the lower level of the Wyoming Union.

UW’s 7220 Entertainment hosts the event, which is free and open to the public.

Elephant Revival, from Nederland Colo., is a six-member music group that plays a variety of gypsy, Celtic, Americana and folk music. According to its website, the group received, with its album, titled “Break in the Clouds,” a best CD award in 2011 from the Indie Acoustic Music Project. In 2013, the group received the best CD award again from the Indie Acoustic Music Project, for its release, titled “These Changing Skies.”

National Public Radio describes the band’s collection of music as “Intuitive rhythms augmented with unexpected hand claps; expansive acoustic instruments with tight, haunting vocal; gut-level intuition; Celtic dancing grooves; and plenty of progressive roots music.”
