Mental Health Awareness Day Scheduled Nov. 9 at UW

The University of Wyoming Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center, and the University Counseling Center will host Mental Health Awareness Day Thursday, Nov. 9. All events are free and open to UW students and the public.

Among the strategies and support for the day are providing students with the information on how to balance school, work, social life and hobbies.

Events for the day are:

-- 12:15-12:45 p.m.: “Let Stress Melt Away with Drop-in Meditation” will include an introduction to meditation, followed by a 15-minute body scan and 10-minute walking meditation. Wellness Center, Room 117.

-- 1-1:50 p.m.: “Where Does the Time Go?” Geared toward students who are struggling to balance school, work, a social life, hobbies, and how to recognize tendencies and habits. Lunch provided. Wyoming Union, Room 203.

-- 2-3 p.m.: “FAQ About Wellness and Well-being.” A question-and-answer session is scheduled. Wellness Center, Room 117. Snacks provided.

-- 3-3:50 p.m.: “Roses are red, violets are blue, if your relationship is over we can help you.” Learn about breakups and how to transcend them. Wyoming Union, Room 203.
