Federal Income Tax Withholding Changes in 2018

University of Wyoming employees are advised that the Internal Revenue Service has updated its income tax-withholding tables for 2018 to reflect changes made by the new federal tax law.

Withholding tables are used by UW’s Payroll Office to determine how much tax to withhold from your paycheck. Employees will see the withholding change starting on their February checks.

The revised 2018 W-4 form is still pending government release. As soon as the new W-4 form is released, it will be available on the Forms link located on the UW Human Resources website.

You may access the IRS 2018 withholding tables at www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/n1036.pdf. This document identifies the value of each withholding allowance and provides a table to calculate the withholding based on your salary and marital status.
