These are among the construction activities scheduled May 13-19 at the University of Wyoming:

13th and Lewis Streets Water Main Repairs (City of Laramie Water Dept.) -- The city of Laramie water department will barricade and dig to expose a broken water valve in the intersection of 13th and Lewis streets Monday, May 14. City employees will try to make the repairs Thursday, May 17, unless other emergencies arise. The following buildings may be affected: Service Building/Fleet Services, Anthropology, Michael B. Enzi STEM Facility, Engineering Education and Research Building, Earth Science, TransPark, Berry Biodiversity Conservation Center, Bureau of Mines and Wyoming Humanities House. Please use the restrooms in Wyoming Hall, Education/Education Annex, Agriculture, Engineering, Energy Innovation Center, Geological Survey, Geology, Pharmacy, Biological Sciences and Health Sciences. Please accept our apologies during this water outage. Please use caution around the equipment and construction area.

Central Energy Plant (CEP) Steam and Chilled Water Outages (Mechanical Systems Inc., Cheyenne) -- The CEP will have two short steam outages and one long chilled water outage Wednesday, May 16. The outages will begin shortly after 7 a.m. for both steam and chilled water. The first steam outage will be approximately 7-9 a.m. The second steam outage will be approximately 4-6 p.m. The chilled water will be offline from approximately 7 a.m.-6 p.m. The outage lengths are approximate and may change from the estimates.

Hoyt Hall (UW Operations) -- All power to Hoyt Hall will be shut down Tuesday, May 15, for transformer replacement. The outage will be from 6 a.m.-5 p.m.

Old Main (UW Operations, May 2018) -- Renovations will be ongoing in Room 113 through the week of May 14. Please be aware of painting operations and work crews in the building.

Campus Irrigation (UW Operations) -- Crews will begin turning on irrigation systems throughout campus. Use caution, as some sidewalks could become slick. Please excuse the inconvenience of detours walking around campus.

Physical Sciences Building Third Floor, WWAMI Cadaver Lab (Arcon Inc., Laramie; summer 2018) -- Wall framing and drywall are nearing completion. Painting has begun and is planned for the next two weeks.

Information Technology Building (Arcon Inc., June 2018) -- Exterior work is ongoing for a new chiller installation on the south side of the IT Building. Ivinson Street by the building may be temporarily blocked during normal business hours. Additionally, work on the interior will begin mid-May on the southeast side of the building. Work crews will be transporting large equipment. Use caution around work crews.

Half Acre Gym (Mullen’s Heating, Laramie; UW Operations PM Shop) -- The contractor will start upgrading the air filtration system in four air-handling units (AHU) May 22-24. The respective AHU will remain shut down until the upgrades are completed. Techs also will perform coil cleaning while the AHU is shut down. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Central Energy Plant (CEP) (Arcon Inc., Laramie; May 2018) -- Construction fence is set up around the work area for replacement of the condensate tank at CEP. The sidewalk on the west side of 19th Street may be closed; the street will be blocked occasionally. Please be cautious of crews and equipment in the area.

Engineering Education and Research Building (EERB) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Casper; spring 2019) -- Installation of the stone veneer; exterior and interior metal stud framing, drywall and paint; mechanical/electrical/plumbing rough-ins, elevator commissioning, utility extensions; and roofing are all underway. Eleventh Street will be closed to traffic in both directions for the duration of the project. The ADA sidewalk ramp on the southeast corner of the Michael B. Enzi STEM Facility will be closed May 14-28 for utility tie-ins. ADA access is still available on the southwest ramp, and no exterior building doors will be blocked. Please steer clear of heavy equipment, overhead conveying and delivery trucks parked on city streets. Please observe all construction signs.

Business Building (UW Structural) -- Starting the week of May 14, the UW Paint Shop will begin painting the hallways in the College of Business.

Engineering Building (UW Operations) -- Work will be ongoing for handrail repair on the north side of the building in the Lewis Street alleyway between 11th and 12th streets. Please expect temporary closures between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please be cautious around crews and equipment in this area, and observe all construction signs.
