UWs 7220 Entertainment Student Short Film Festival Names Winners

Eight major awards were handed out at the recent 7220 Entertainment Student Short Film Festival, which honored University of Wyoming students who showcased their filmmaking skills.

The awards ceremony took place April 20 in the Wyoming Union Family Room. 7220 Entertainment presented film festival awards for first, second and third place overall, along with several other categories, including: Achievement in Direction, Achievement in Screenwriting, Achievement in Sound Production, Achievement in Cinematography and Most Original Film.

Winners were as follows:

-- First Place -- “The Surrogate,” London Homer-Wambeam, of Laramie.

-- Second Place -- “Chad II,” Sam Mallory, of Cheyenne.

-- Third Place -- “A Wonderful World,” Zachary Rauen, of Littleton, Colo.; and Andres Cabrales, of Laramie.

-- Achievement in Direction -- “Pasajes de Agua,” directed by Jordan Hoffmaster, of Rochester, Minn.

-- Achievement in Screenwriting -- “The Surrogate,” written by Homer-Wambeam.

-- Achievement in Sound Production -- “A Wonderful World,” produced by Rauen.

-- Achievement in Cinematography -- “Chad II,” cinematography by Mallory.

-- Most Original Film -- “The Surrogate,” written by Homer-Wambeam.
