University of Wyoming Calendar for July 9

These are among the activities scheduled July 9-15 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, July 10, 7 p.m. -- UW Planetarium full-dome movie, “Distant Worlds -- Alien Life?” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Tuesday, July 10-Saturday, July 14, 7:30 p.m. -- UW’s Snowy Range Summer Theatre season closes with “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” a musical comedy about love. The UW Department of Theatre and Dance’s production takes place in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Thrust Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public and $7 for seniors, students and children over age 5. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people. The play contains language and themes that some may find objectionable.

Wednesday, July 11, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Local folk-Americana band 10¢ Stranger will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Wednesday, July 11, 5:30 p.m. -- Susan Dewey, UW associate professor in the School of Culture, Gender and Social Justice, will present “Wyoming Pathways from Prison: An Internationally Replicable University-Community Partnership Model” at the Albany County Public Library Centennial branch. Her presentation is part of UW’s “What in the World?” summer program. Free.

Friday, July 13, 1 p.m. -- UW students with valid UW student IDs are eligible for free movie tickets on select Fridays this summer. Students may pick up tickets from the Wyoming Union information desk July 13, July 27 and Aug. 10 starting at 1 p.m. on each date.

Friday, July 13, 8 p.m. -- UW Planetarium show, “Monsters of the Cosmos.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, July 14, 11 a.m. -- UW Planetarium show, “The Earth’s Companion.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics/ and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Sunday, July 15, 1:30 p.m. -- UW’s Exercise is Medicine on Campus presents “Walk with a Doc” in Laramie’s Washington Park. Free.

A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, 2111 Willett Drive in Laramie. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Free.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
