The University of Wyoming’s Summer Concert Series features local band Franklin Good Boy Wednesday, July 18. The event is free and open to the public.

The Laramie-based band will perform from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. on Simpson Plaza. UW Residence Life and Dining Services will provide burgers -- including a veggie option -- grilled chicken, salads, drinks and sides for purchase from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

The three musicians -- Curtis Harnish, Adam Hoffdahl and Brendan Green -- got their start when they found a pile of instruments in a dumpster.

“Being thoughtful, they thought to use the instruments for good,” according to the band’s website. “Consider their style of music as ‘Bad Company if they had good friends growing up’ or ‘Dad Rock.’”

Their album “Bloomington” can be found on Spotify or previewed at www.franklingoodboy.bandcamp.com.

The Campus Activities Center’s 7220 Entertainment sponsors the concert series.
