Campus Construction Update for Sept. 2

Starting next week, the report on construction activities at the University of Wyoming campus no longer will be emailed weekly to employees and students at UW.

People who would like to see detailed updates on construction and maintenance activities can go online to www.uwyo.edu/constructionreport.

These are among the construction activities scheduled Sept. 2-8 at UW:

Animal Science/Molecular Biology Building (Simon Contractors, Cheyenne; September 2018) -- The parking lot is closed for repairs. Please use caution in the area.

Engineering Education and Research Building (EERB) (Construction manager GE Johnson Construction Wyoming LLC, Casper; spring 2019) -- Construction continues. Eleventh Street will be closed to traffic in both directions for the duration of the project. Please observe all construction signs.

Irrigation Expansion (Triple A; August-December 2018) -- Crews will be boring under public roadways and trenching throughout campus. Some roadways will be closed during construction. Expect traffic delays and detours.

Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center (UW Operations) -- Work on the west-facing entrance is underway. The entrance is closed for demolition, and gym users are encouraged to use the south entrance until work is completed.

Old Main (UW Operations; October 2018) -- Remodeling of Suite 318 of Old Main is nearly complete with the exception of tile replacement in the corridor at the entries to the suite. Remodeling of Suite 312 is underway and is expected to continue until Oct. 17. Please use caution.

Science Initiative Building (Site clearing and demolition contractor Stonehouse Inc., Laramie; summer/fall 2018) -- Asbestos abatement in multiple buildings is in progress. The parking lot at 10th and Lewis streets is permanently closed. The Laramie Fire Department will be conducting training exercises in several of the buildings the next three weeks. Please do not park in any of the residential areas or parking lots. Please observe all construction signs.

Ross Hall (UW Operations Shops; October 2018) -- Sink and countertop revisions of Ross Hall bathrooms will begin starting with the fourth floor and working down throughout the building. Building water outages will be scheduled intermittently as needed. Only one floor will be disrupted at a time. Please use restrooms on adjacent floors, and use caution around crews in the area.

Health Sciences Building-South Wing Fourth Floor, WWAMI Classroom (Arcon Inc., Laramie; fall 2018) -- Demolition and reconstruction will continue in the south wing of the fourth floor through November, with temporary impacts to additional spaces on the third and fourth floors. Please be cautious, and observe all construction signs.

Wyoming Union Third Floor, Veterans Services Center (Shepard Construction, Rawlins; summer 2018) -- Demolition and reconstruction will continue on the third floor through the end of August. Exterior project staging is on the southwest side of the Wyoming Union. Please be cautious in the area.

The following projects are complete:

Arena-Auditorium (Arcon Inc., Laramie; August 2018) -- Concrete repairs to the west side of the building are complete.

Information Technology Center (Arcon Inc.) -- The parking lot north of IT on Sorority Row is open, and the temporary chiller has been removed.
