Laramie Civic Chorus and Community Band to Perform at UW Oct. 29

The University of Wyoming’s Community Band and Civic Chorus present “Earth Song” Monday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.

Directed by UW Department of Music faculty members Holly Dalrymple and Bob Belser, the Laramie Civic Chorus and Community Band will perform a selection of songs that tie into the elements of the Earth.

Tickets cost $10 for the public, $7 for senior citizens and $6 for students. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Pieces such as “March Diabolique,” “Moscow 1941,” “Earthdance,” selections from “Les Miserables,” “American Riversongs” and “Grand Canyon Fanfare” will be featured throughout the performance.

The Community Band and Civic Chorus performers include members of the Laramie and surrounding area communities, UW students and faculty, and music students developing expertise with a second instrument. Ensembles are open to new members.
