Release Time for UW Staff Recognition Day Thursday

More than 200 University of Wyoming employees will be honored during Staff Recognition Day Thursday, April 4, from 10 a.m.-noon in the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. Free parking is available, and shuttle buses will run to the Gateway Center.

UW President Laurie Nichols has granted up to two hours of release time to attend Staff Recognition Day. The scheduling of release time should be a collaborative discussion between employee and supervisor to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the unit.

The annual event will feature refreshments, door prizes, entertainment, a raffle for prizes and a 50-50 drawing, as well as years of service recognition. A total of 17 individual staff awards will be presented. The announcement of the 2018 Employee of the Year, who is selected from among four quarterly winners, will be among the event’s highlights.

“Staff Senate is especially excited to give the All-Star Team Award and True Grit Award for the first time,” says Staff Senator Jennie Hedrick. “Come dressed in your best space or alien costumes for a chance to win prizes. Also, get a picture with a group of colleagues or old friends in the selfie booth.”
