Transportation for Daryl Davis Lecture Available to UW Community

April 2, 2019

The University of Wyoming Service, Leadership and Community Engagement (SLCE) office and the Good Mule Project are partnering to take UW students, staff and faculty to Fort Collins, Colo., Tuesday, April 9, for a lecture by Daryl Davis.

Davis is an African-American international recording artist and race relations expert and author. For more than 30 years, Davis has befriended members of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) and has convinced 200 members to give up their robes, according to his website.

Davis’ lecture will describe his experience with racial issues and how he managed to change the hearts of hundreds of KKK members while attending their rallies in order to gather information for his highly acclaimed book, “Klan-Destine Relationships.”

Tickets to the lecture and transportation from Laramie are free, but those interested must register to reserve a spot, as space is limited. Participants will leave Laramie at 4 p.m. and return after 9 p.m.
