April 9, 2019

The University of Wyoming American Heritage Center’s (AHC) Simpson Institute for Western Politics is partnering with Laramie County Community College (LCCC) in Cheyenne to host a moderated discussion, “Breaking the Boom and Bust Cycle in Wyoming: Viewpoints from Southeast Wyoming,” Thursday, April 18.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Clay Pathfinder Building on the LCCC Cheyenne campus. For more information about the LCCC campus and directions, visit https://lccc.wy.edu/about/maps/.

The discussion will be moderated by former state representative and UW administrator/instructor Pete Simpson. It will focus on Wyoming’s vision for the future from a socio-economic standpoint.

Panelists include current state Reps. Sara Burlingame, Sue Wilson and Cathy Connolly; former state Rep. Michael Madden; Jerimiah Rieman, executive director of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association; and author and poet Sam Western.

The Alan K. Simpson Institute for Western Politics and Leaders is a program of the AHC that focuses on the acquisition and preservation of collections from prominent individuals, businesses and organizations that have provided leadership -- political, economic, social and cultural -- for Wyoming and the Rocky Mountain West.
