University of Wyoming Calendar for July 8

These are among the activities scheduled July 8-14 at the University of Wyoming:

Tuesday, July 9, 7 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium full-dome movie, “Phantom of the Universe.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Tuesday, July 9-Saturday, July 13, 7:30 p.m. -- The 2019 UW Snowy Range Summer Theatre season closes with “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” a Tony Award-winning musical comedy. Performances will take place in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts Thrust Theatre. Tickets cost $10 for the public and $7 for students, senior citizens and children over age 5. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more people. Tickets are available at the Performing Arts box office and the Wyoming Union information desk, by calling (307) 766-6666 or going online at www.uwyo.edu/finearts.

Wednesday, July 10, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. -- Bob Lefevre and the Already Gone, an alternative country/rock band from Laramie, will perform for the UW Summer Concert Series on Simpson Plaza. Free.

Friday, July 12, 8 p.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “The Cosmic Cooking Show.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, July 13, 11 a.m. -- UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium show, “Heroes, Villains and Emus.” Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

Saturday, July 13, 8 p.m. -- The UW Harry C. Vaughan Planetarium will host a laser show, featuring music by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Tickets cost $3 for students and $4 for non-students, Physical Sciences Building basement. Advance tickets are available in the Physical Sciences Building, Room 204, or by going online at www.uwyo.edu/physics and clicking on “Planetarium Schedule.”

A variety of exhibitions can be seen at the UW Art Museum in the Centennial Complex, located at 2111 E. Willett Drive in Laramie. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday hours are extended to 7 p.m. Free.

Dinosaur skeletons, ancient mammal fossils and other exhibits are on display in the UW Geological Museum. The museum is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

The UW Department of Botany’s Williams Conservatory is open to the public Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.
