Award-winning market strategist and creative director Polly Beale will discuss the racial and gender divide in marketing at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at the University of Wyoming.

She will discuss “Creativity, Gender, Bias and Innovation in Marketing: Creativity and Why It's Important for Your Business -- The Racial and Gender Divide in the Creative Economy,” in Room 123 in the UW College of Business. Her talk is free and open to the public, and is part of UW’s School of Culture, Gender and Social Justice Fall Speaker Series.

The past 30 years, Beale has worked at several of the most prestigious advertising agencies worldwide, including Grey, Saatchi and Saatchi and Publicis, based in London. She has served as creative director of The Times and Sunday Times in London, where she co-led the launch of timesonline.com and initiated a department committed to immersive branded content.

After moving to Los Angeles, Beale co-founded A Very Good Agency on a unique model of hybrid strategy, creative and production/content development, with a focus on original, evocative cause marketing.

Beale is an innovative, collaborative marketing expert with a proven record of accomplishment in delivering powerful strategies that connect brands to the people who matter to them. She has helped to implement complex, cross-media communications plans and campaigns that transform brands and institutions.

She is passionate about mentoring and supporting women and minorities in advertising, both in the U.S. and worldwide. She is part of the 3% Movement, which promotes women and minorities in creative leadership at ad agencies.

The UW College of Business; UW School of Culture, Gender and Social Justice; and UW School of Politics, Public Affairs and International Studies sponsor the program.
