UWs Wyoming Supplier Fair Draws Over 32 Suppliers

More than 30 suppliers representing nine different industries connected with units of the University of Wyoming during UW’s inaugural Wyoming Supplier Fair Oct. 15.

The event is part of UW’s BUY-WY initiative, which formalizes the university’s commitment to support Wyoming’s economy by encouraging university employees to purchase from Wyoming suppliers.

Companies and other entities participating came from fields ranging from information technology and engineering to printing, screen printing, advertising and employment services. Several suppliers reconnected with existing customers on campus while, at the same time, making new connections with campus departments who may not have been aware of their products and services.

“We at digital blues Print Shop would like to thank the University of Wyoming for hosting such a wonderful event for local businesses,” one of the suppliers says. “It provided a great opportunity for us to go into depth with our product offerings and services with the buyers on campus. The event was very well planned and executed, and allowed us to network with other local businesses to discover what we all can do for each other.”

UW plans to make the Wyoming Supplier Fair an annual event.

“We all are committed to improving the quality of life of Wyomingites and strengthening the economic vitality of our state,” Acting President Neil Theobald says. “I have challenged our university community to find ways in which it can expand the involvement of Wyoming suppliers in its purchasing activities, and the Supplier Fair is an important part of that effort.”
