The Wyoming Technology Business Center (WTBC) hosts an e2e Wyoming meeting in Laramie today (Nov. 19) from 4:30-6 p.m. at Bond’s Brewing Co., located at 411 S. Second St.

E2e, an educational networking program designed to improve the climate for the startup and growth of entrepreneurial companies, is a monthly program that meets on the third Tuesday of the month, with locations alternating between Coal Creek Tap and Bond’s Brewing Co. in Laramie.

The meeting will include networking time, but it will be more informal since a new format took effect earlier this year. The meeting will include a few announcements and a speaker who will talk about 10 minutes. The focus will be on having more local entrepreneurial engagement.

Peter Scott is the guest speaker.

Scott began as the entrepreneur in residence for the University of Wyoming’s College of Engineering and Applied Science in October 2018. He is tasked with helping students, faculty and prospective entrepreneurs around the state in the intricate process of starting businesses. In conjunction with the launch of UW’s Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Scott is part of a cluster hire focused on entrepreneurship.

Originally from Michigan, Scott brings more than 30 years of experience in industry and academia. He has advised more than 25 technology startups worth more than $10 million in investment funding in topics such as strategy, marketing, sales and finance. The industries in which the companies have been involved include solar power, wind turbines, fuel injection, engine controls, consumer products and medical devices.

Scott has created entrepreneurial training guides used by incubators and universities in Papua New Guinea and Bahrain, and has taught in South Korea, China, Pakistan and Luxembourg. Most recently, he was a lecturer at the University of Colorado, where he taught entrepreneurship concepts to students pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees on the Boulder and Denver campuses. He began his teaching career as a professor of entrepreneurship at Syracuse University.

Scott’s expertise spans both the business and engineering realms. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, a master’s in aerospace engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the University of Michigan.

Administered by UW’s Office of Research and Economic Development, the WTBC is a not-for-profit business incubator that provides entrepreneurs with the expertise, networks and tools necessary for success.

To register for the e2e meeting, call the WTBC front desk at (307) 766-6399 or email wtbcdesk@uwyo.edu.
