Transit Services Restart Plan Schedule for Fall Semester at UW

Many changes have been made over the summer in response to COVID-19 for UWYO Roundup Transit Services this fall at the University of Wyoming.

New policies include a face covering requirement for passengers and drivers; capacity restrictions on buses and vans; Plexiglas barriers have been installed; hand sanitizer and mask dispensers are available; and a rigorous deep-cleaning and sanitation schedule for all buses and vans.

Transportation information for the fall semester includes:

-- East and South Express buses will resume normal operating hours from 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 24. Due to limited capacity on buses to help maintain social distancing, passengers are encouraged to plan ahead. Vehicle capacity limits will be posted on every bus, and seats will be marked to encourage social distancing on board. Transit Services will attempt to keep up with demand during peak times with students gradually returning to campus. Passengers should be aware of possible delays in arrival times.

-- The Campus Commuter route will operate on a 20-minute schedule from 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Passengers are encouraged to use the updated timetable at www.uwyo.edu/roundup or download the TransLoc app to track buses in real time.

-- The LaramieLink route will not operate this fall and, instead, the on-demand LaramieLink Dial-A-Ride hours have been extended to operate throughout the day and late evening seven days a week. Passengers can call for a ride Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m.-2 a.m. LaramieLink Dial-A-Ride also will resume weekend service beginning Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m.

-- SafeRide will resume regular service beginning Thursday, Aug. 27, at 9 p.m. The SafeRide lobby downtown will be closed to passengers; new pick-up and drop-off points have been added downtown. Several new pick-up lanes also have been added at the downtown office to minimize crowding and increase boarding efficiency.

-- Passengers can request on-demand rides for LaramieLink Dial-A-Ride and SafeRide by calling (307) 766-RIDE (7433) or downloading the Transloc app.

-- Passengers are reminded to remain home and not use UW’s transportation system if they are not feeling well or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
