Nominations Accepted for UW Winter Commencement Student Speaker

Nominations are now being accepted for a student speaker for the University of Wyoming’s winter commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 11. The nomination deadline is Friday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.

UW faculty, staff and student organizations are encouraged to nominate students to speak at the ceremony. Nominees must be graduating this semester.

Nominations should be in the form of a short letter. Each nomination should indicate whether the student nominee is an undergraduate or graduate student. Nominators also should confirm that the student nominee is willing and able to participate as the commencement speaker.

Criteria include a record of academic excellence; ability to write and speak effectively to a large audience; demonstrated leadership in student organizations/activities, public service or other activities that involve speaking to groups; and representative of the best qualities of UW graduates.

Nominations should be emailed to the UW Student Success and Graduation Hub at ssgraduation@uwyo.edu.
